Jesus and Andina Doing the Small Things for the Resistance
". . . sometimes it’s the small things/ that end up fitting the bill." by Ernie McCray
It’s so refreshing to see so many American citizens saying “Hell No” to a president’s bold attempts to leave our country in a mess, calling in the National Guard and the U.S. Marines to strip both American citizens and immigrants in our land of any and all rights they might possess. We the People at our very best. Some of us giving what we can, no matter how small, to lend a helping hand on this mission we’ve been given to save our land, and I saw a sterling example of that firsthand, observing Jesus, my querida’s brother, and his daughter Andina, decide suddenly to load up on some crunchy kettle cooked potato chips and some oat bites and some trail mix snack packs and some fig bars and water and then take off to LA having no idea their destination, checking for information on their smart phones, finding themselves directed to a church in Downey in Southeast Los Angeles County where they were greeted with the news that a man had been sitting under a tree on the church property and was detained by people who just showed up in unmarked vehicles and one of the pastors reminded the man of his right to maintain silent and said to the perpetrators, who claimed to be with ICE, that they didn’t want this on their property to which an agent loudly and falsely proclaimed “The whole country is our property” and soon a press conference was organized which meant the pastors of the church suddenly had to go shop for some food supplies to accommodate the people who would arrive and much to their surprise there before their eyes, like a blessing, was just what their hearts were set on: refreshments. A little something to lift one’s mental and physical energy. Thanks to Jesus and Andina. Oh, some would say that what they did wasn’t so much but like it is with many matters, especially taking on a man who sees himself as royalty and his fellow citizens as his enemy, sometimes it’s the small things that end up fitting the bill. We need everything we can muster together to rid ourselves of this man’s evil.
