It may be 40 years after the original prediction, but Trump, America’s billionaire oligarchy, a corrupt Supreme Court, social media, and our loss of privacy may still prove George Orwell prescient.
“Low information” is the new euphemism for ignorance.
The radical right has been openly plotting this day since Newt Gingrich started tearing our country apart in the 1980s. Where is the Democratic counter strategy?

Democrats are Charlie Brown and Republicans are Lucy. We keep expecting them to play fair, and we end up on our ass every time. We don’t even bring a knife to a gun fight; we bring tea and cookies.
Republicans are going to “roll coal” on the environment and efforts to stem climate change. The climate will exact its revenge soon enough. The planet will survive. People? Maybe not.
The average American has “low information” on how the economy works and how little control the President has.
The antichrist (McConnell) is right, “winners make policy, losers go home.” Unless we want to spend the rest of our lives wringing our hands and whinging, we have to realize that winning trumps the moral high ground.
