Join a Diverse Coalition as they Unveil Revolutionary UCSD Labor Center with Researchers, Students, Union Leaders, and Community Members
On April 12th, a coalition of researchers, students, union leaders, and community members from across San Diego and Imperial Valley will unveil the highly anticipated University of California San Diego (UCSD) Labor Center. Nestled within one of the world's top 20 research universities, UCSD's Labor Center stands as a beacon of innovation, poised to spearhead groundbreaking research on the economic and social dynamics of labor and employment issues. This pivotal moment marks not just the inauguration of a research center, but a catalytic force shaping the future of labor, education, and community leadership bringing “Dreams to Action”.
The creation of the UCSD Labor Center was made possible by a $13 million ongoing funding allocation to expand UC labor centers across our state that was approved as part of California’s 2022-23 budget. This historic growth comes at a time of increased action taken by workers to combat inequalities on the job and in our communities.
